Luminaria Update: Release 1


A major update for Luminaria is out now! With the Spring semester now underway, our team has grown and we've spent the past five weeks working hard making improvements and adding new features to the game.

Here's what's new:

  • Visual polish: Environments have been enhanced with new lighting systems, post-processing effects, particle systems, and additional art
  • Introductory cutscene: The game now begins with a brief cutscene giving more insight to Aspen's story, animated beautifully by our talented animator Sam Pham.
  • Dialogue system: A new character has entered the world of Luminaria! Meet the firefly elder who gives Aspen advice as they begin their journey.
  • Level flow rework: The first two tutorial levels of the game have been merged into one for a smoother gameplay experience.
  • More cinematic cameras: Multiple cameras have been added for cinematic cut and zoom features while exploring the environment
  • HUD: Altar fragments collection progress can now be easily tracked with the addition of a minimal HUD
  • Bug Fixes: Various game-breaking bugs have been resolved

The Luminaria demo will continue to be in development until May. Thank you to everyone who's played the game so far!
